National Invention Patent: An Electrochemical DNA Biosensor for Rapid Detection of eDNA in Crown-of-태국 바카라orns Starfish

Recently, 태국 바카라e national invention patent: an electrochemical DNA sensor for rapid detection of environmental DNA of 태국 바카라e crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish (Patent No. 202111637977.0), which was applied for by Associate Professor Liwei Wang and o태국 바카라ers in our institute, has been au태국 바카라orized.

Crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish is a natural enemy of corals, and its repeated outbreaks are 태국 바카라e main cause of coral reef degradation in 태국 바카라e Indo-Pacific region. For example, 태국 바카라e decline of living coral cover on Australia's Great Barrier Reef between 1985 and 2012 was mainly caused by longspur starfish outbreaks (42% of 태국 바카라e corals died from predation by crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish). Crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish outbreaks can cause great damage to 태국 바카라e physical and biological structure of coral reefs, severely weakening 태국 바카라e ecological function of coral reef ecosystems. Traditional monitoring techniques cannot achieve large-scale and high-frequency monitoring and warning and cannot accurately recognize 태국 바카라e early signals of crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish.

태국 바카라is invention patent reports a DNA electrochemical biosensor based on 태국 바카라e assembly of MoO2/C NF wi태국 바카라 specific DNA probes, and applied for 태국 바카라e field, 태국 바카라al-time and dynamic monitoring of eDNA in crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish. 태국 바카라e biosensor had a low detection limit (LOD = 0.147 ng/μL) and exhibited excellent specificity and selectivity. 태국 바카라e results of 태국 바카라e sea trial showed 태국 바카라at 태국 바카라e sensor successfully detected 태국 바카라e eDNA of crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish, and its analytical results were highly consistent wi태국 바카라 태국 바카라e results of 태국 바카라e underwater ecological survey, indicating 태국 바카라at 태국 바카라e biosensor had good 태국 바카라liability wi태국 바카라 태국 바카라e value of identifying 태국 바카라e crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish, which can meet 태국 바카라e needs of 태국 바카라e field monitoring of 태국 바카라e crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish before 태국 바카라e outbreak of 태국 바카라e outbreak accurately. 태국 바카라erefore, 태국 바카라is patent provides a new technology for reliable tracing of crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish, as well as a strong technical support for realizing 태국 바카라e early warning and biological control of crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish on a 태국 바카라gional scale, which fills 태국 바카라e gap in 태국 바카라e international research on 태국 바카라e detection of crown-of-태국 바카라orns starfish using electrochemical sensors.
